Platform was an attempt to create a 100% UK skate brand. The driving force was to try and create an aesthetic that eschewed the ‘skate’ vernacular that is seen so often in international skate companies.
The first (and only) board concept was a tribute piece to the Tricorn Shopcentre in Portsmouth UK, a shining light of 1960s Brutalist architecture that in a dilapidated state became a beacon for the Pompey skate and street art community.
The project is now defunct but the deck was featured in ‘Made & Sold’ from Lawrence King Publishing, and one is also part of the permanent collection of Portsmouth City Museum.
